Our mutual aids are another way we give back to our Black and/or Indigenous communities. Our mutual aids respond to emergency needs that Black and/or Indigenous communities might need during these times—ranging from natural disasters relief efforts to community-building capacity during the pandemic. We already know that Black and Indigenous communities are the ones that face the most disparities (from climate change to health disparities) and are the least supported or last ones to be helped by the government. As a result, at Piña Soul, SPC, we mobilize to co-lead mutual aid efforts that directly support and fund organizations led by Black and/or Indigenous peoples, in particular womxn. Black & Indigenous womxn are the pillars of community resilience, resistance, and strength. They are the ones leading movements for climate, environmental, and racial justice and due to patriarchy, their voices and leadership are silenced or completely ignored. We are trying to support as many mutual aids as we can and will be alternating who gets a % of sales donated. Please visit each page to learn more about how you can also donate directly to these efforts.
