ocean protection 🍍

Oceans are important ecosystems, cultural sites, and make up 70% of our Mother Earth. Our ocean also serves as the largest and most effective carbon sink—as fifty times the Carbon Dioxide that our atmosphere absorbs, is absorbed by our oceans. As a result, the ocean plays a major role in sustaining life, economies, medicines, and Indigenous cultures around the globe.

At Piña Soul we aim to implement and/or support community-based solutions & projects that aim to protect our oceans and cultures that depend on them.  Because we understand the strong resilience & resistance of Indigenous & Black people embody and acknowledge the important work they are doing to conserve our oceans, one of the conservation areas our Eco-Warrior Community Micro-Grants supports are projects, research, etc. that focus on finding community solutions to protect our ocean.

Our applications for our Eco-Warrior Community Micro-Grants: Ocean Protection will open soon.
