Jessica Hernandez (Zapotec & Ch'orti' Maya) is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Environmental & Forest Sciences at the University of Washington. She holds dual Master's Degrees in Marine & Environmental Affairs and Forestry. She has a long & extensive experience advocating for Indigenous peoples, communities, and science in the environmental and climate change discourse. She has taught courses at the Department of American Indian Studies and School of Environmental & Forest Sciences at the University of Washington.
